About
the Workplace Grief Site
My interest in grief in the workplace began many years ago when I was a medical student, a resident and a practicing physician and experienced grief in the workplace setting that was not handled well. The Workplace Grief site is an extension of the Journey of Hearts™ website, a site devoted to anyone grieving a loss. This site contains information to help employees, co-workers and managers better understand the normal grief response. Grief, from all causes, has been found to cost the workplace more than $75.1 billion a year.* The Workplace Grief: Managing Grief and Loss in the Worplace also provides helpful articles, books and resources to assist employees, co-workers and managers in helping those in the workplace grieving a loss. ![]() In 2003 the Grief Recovery Institute published a study revealing the impact of grief on the workplace. All total impact of grief on employees at work caused by the death of loved ones or a close friend, divorce, family crises, financial losses, pet losses and other major life events total more than $75.1 billion. |
